Join the Cause and Fight Global Warming

I recommend everyone to watch this fact-laden, full of scientific data and engaging documentary on Al Gore's campaign to make the issue of global warming a recognized problem worldwide. Gore's lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change by educating people with this issue is a very noble deed. At the end of the documentary, the film offers us ways to help reverse global warming's effects. One should care enough to make a small contribution to reduce global warming and to protect the earth, unless that someone is apathetic to future generations.

Gore concludes that going from denial to despair without pausing to see what can be done is the wrong course of action, or rather inaction. "Political will," Gore says, "is a renewable resource." Gently, but firmly, he calls for attention to a clear and present danger that cannot be ignored.

I urge you to watch this documentary and visit http://www.climatecrisis.net

Excuse Me While I Puke!!!! WHAT A HYPOCRITE!!

Ted Arthur Haggard is an American evangelical preacher known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he has served. He is the founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was leader of the National Association of Evangelicals from 2003[1] until November 2006. Haggard has stated he believes in what is known as the Third Wave of the Holy Spirit and subscribes to the concept referred to as the Five-fold ministry – beliefs often associated with the charismatic movement. He has stated that he believes that there is one, all-knowing God, and that humans were created to be with him.

In early 2006, University of Oxford Professor Richard Dawkins interviewed Haggard as part of a British television documentary entitled The Root of All Evil?. During this interview, Dawkins spoke with Haggard about contradictions between the cumulative knowledge produced by science, and a literal interpretation of the Bible (particularly its account of creation). In response, Haggard claimed to "fully embrace the scientific method". However, Haggard then stated that the conclusions of that method regarding the age of the earth and evolution were only the result of "some of the views that are accepted in some portions of the scientific community."

As Dawkins and his film crew were packing up to leave, there was a brief altercation in the car parking lot. According to Dawkins, Haggard ordered Dawkins's crew off his land with the words, "You called my children animals," and threatened legal action and confiscation of their recording equipment. Later, Dawkins speculated that Haggard was upset that Dawkins had defended evolution in their earlier discussions.

Here is (part of) the interview of Haggard with Richard Dawkins. Haggard looks sinister, you know...the one that's a perfect cast for a movie psychopath. EERIE!!!

In November 2006, former male prostitute and masseur Mike Jones alleged that Haggard had engaged in homosexual sex with him for three years and had also purchased and used crystal methamphetamine. Jones said he had only recently learned of Haggard's true identity and explained his reasons for coming forward by saying, "It made me angry that here’s someone preaching about gay marriage and going behind the scenes having gay sex." Haggard initially claimed he had never heard of his accuser and denied having ever done drugs and stated "I have not, I have never had a gay relationship with anybody." Many evangelical leaders initially showed support for Haggard and were critical of media reports. Haggard claimed in a television interview, "I am steady with my wife. I’m faithful to my wife."

The Accusation and the Denial

And so he admitted to buying meth BUT said he never used it WHEW!!!

BUT on November 5, in a statement Haggard said, "I am a deceiver and a liar. The fact is I am guilty of sexual immorality...There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I've been warring against it all of my adult life. ... Please forgive my accuser ... actually thank God for him. He didn't violate you; I did."

I am the Bigger Fool

My eldest daughter is a Christian (non denomination when I asked her what branch). Her husband introduced her to that religion. Actually, she does not want to be called religious. She wants to be called spiritual which to me is one cockamamy bullshit. She does not try to convert me, nor talk to me about her belief. Heck, with 15 years of Catholic School and bible studies and cathechism, she wouldn't dare! All she could ask was, what happened?

She is surrounded by so called Christian friends. Her husband's family are also in the same congregation, and although not Chinese, they fervently believe in the art of "feng Shui!" They even hired a $250 per hour Feng Shui expert to do some kind of reading for their house. Now go figure!!!!

Because I fear that I might alienate my daughter and son in law by taking that extreme position of godlessness, I kept my mouth shut.

Yesterday, I was at her baby shower party held at her mother-in-law's house somewhere in San Ramon. It shouldn't have been a problem with me being in a place where everybody goes to the same Christian church. And it certainly wasn't a big deal to me when they prayed 4 times that night just to thank the food and the company. I went to one of the rooms and just read my book. But after their long and tedious prayer, one of the guests asked why I stayed in the room. I said, "I am what you might say, the one they would burn at the stakes." I think I must have succeeded in alienating one of them.

Before the night ended, one of her pastors approached me. He was making small talk, and although I got bored with his babbling, I pretended to be interested. ~barf~

In the middle of the conversation, he asked me what faith I belong to. I almost...
a l m o s t...told him I am an Atehist and I like screwing with Christian heads in the evening. I bit my tongue so hard it must have bled. I looked at him in a way that made him feel uncomfortable. He did not ask again.

~sigh~

Sometimes, I think that I am giving way too much an edge about my daughter's feelings. It really makes you wonder why the Atheist has the bigger understanding of the issue...(or in all its stupidity, the bigger fool!!!).
