German-Born Pope Benedict XVI Visits Auschwitz, Asks God Why He 'Tolerated' the Holocaust

OSWIECIM, Poland -- Pope Benedict XVI visited the Auschwitz concentration camp as "a son of the German people" Sunday and asked God why he remained silent during the "unprecedented mass crimes" of the Holocaust.

"To speak in this place of horror, in this place where unprecedented mass crimes were committed against God and man, is almost impossible _ and it is particularly difficult and troubling for a Christian, for a pope from Germany," he said later.

"In a place like this, words fail; in the end, there can be only a dread silence, a silence which itself is a heartfelt cry to God: Why, Lord, did you remain silent? How could you tolerate all this?"

Ze pope is asking God why he tolerated the holocaust? Doesn't he know the scripted answer to a "Why" something bad happens? Because "God works in mysterious ways." If something good happens, the scripted answer is, "It's God's will."

According to the Catholic religion, he's supposed to be the head of the catholic church, the successor of Peter, the rock. (Here's another irony, he's called the rock even after he thrice denied knowledge of Jesus, even though he had said that he would not.) So being the CEO of the Catholic church he should not ask why because per their company manual called the bible, the all knowing founder is infallible.

But it does not fail. Everything good or bad that happens in this world is associated to a God - catastrophic events, people's hardships, good fortune, plenty a' blessings - everything God! (Any Questions About How Life is Turning Out? Refer to scripted answer above)

Damn, religion doesn't make sense.

It's the Ambien....

Another Kennedy is in the news again. But why am I not surprised? This congressman son of a senator blames the drugs...but himself!

Pill popper Congressman Patrick, son of Senator Edward, crashed his convertible into a traffic barrier two blocks from the Capitol building in Washington and, according to officers, staggered as he got out of the car at 2:45 a.m. After the accident, Kennedy issued a statement saying he had consumed no alcohol before the accident, but had become disoriented after taking two prescribed medications — one for nausea and a second to help him sleep."

~HOW STUPID IS THAT?~

It further states, "The police did not test the congressman for drug or alcohol consumption, as they surely would have done if any ordinary citizen had crashed his or her vehicle into a traffic barrier. The sergeants who interfered with the officers on the scene effectively prevented the facts from coming out. They fixed the case so that the public will never know what Rep. Kennedy's condition was."

AHHHH - do i smell power?

And so he says "Last Tuesday, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress treated me for Gastroenteritis,” a stomach illness. According to Kennedy, the attending physician prescribed Phenergan, an anti-nausea medication, which in addition to treating gastroenteritis, “I now know [it] can cause drowsiness and sedation.” “Following the last series of votes Wednesday evening, I returned to my home on Capitol Hill and took the prescribed amount of Phenergan and Ambien, which was also prescribed by the Attending Physician some time ago and I occasionally take to fall asleep. Some time around 2:45am, I drove the few blocks to the Capitol Complex believing I needed to vote."

I've been taking Ambien for more than a year now, but no somnambulism effects on me yet.

But yeah! That's right! Even though he had drug problems in the 80's, he should really blame it on Ambien. It's the most logical explanation especially if you're up for relection. Most Americans are stupid anyway!!! They'd believe the Kennedys. How else would you explain that they get the votes. ~blah~

How much ancient forest do you need at home?

I saw this article at Greenpeace Website and thought that I might share it here.

Eight thousand years ago, large tracts of ancient forest covered almost half the earth's land area. Today, only one fifth of the original forests remain as large areas of ancient forest, the rest having been destroyed, degraded or fragmented by relentless human activity.

The primary causes of forest loss and degradation vary from region to region. They include agricultural expansion, mining , settlement, shifting agriculture, plantation establishment and infrastructural development

We are destroying the world’s precious ancient forests at an unprecedented rate. An area of natural forest the size of a soccer pitch is cut down every two seconds.

A quarter of the forest lost in the last 10,000 years has been destroyed in the last 30 years. Forest loss has a direct link to loss of biodiversity. The current extinction rate of plant and animal species is around 1,000 times faster than it was in pre-human times – and this will increase to 10,000 times faster by 2050.

Scientists predict that the Earth is entering the sixth major extinction event in its history.


Overall, only 8 percent of the world’s remaining intact forest landscapes are strictly protected.The proportion of the remaining intact forest landscapes of the world are located in the following areas:

• 35 percent in Latin America. The Amazon rainforest is mainly located in Brazil, which clears a larger area of forest annually than any other country in the world.

• 28 percent in North America. North America destroys 10,000 square kilometres of ancient forests every year. Many of the fragmented forests of southern Canada and the US lack adequate animal travel corridors and functioning ecosystems for large mammals.

• 19 percent in Northern Asia. Northern Asia is home to the second largest boreal forest in the world. The Siberian tiger once roamed across huge areas of Northern Asia but today it can only be found in a small area of intact forest near the Sea of Japan. Only 400 remain in the wild, with twice as many in zoos.

• 7 percent in South Asia Pacific. The Paradise Forests of Asia Pacific are being destroyed faster than any other forest on Earth. Much of the large intact forest landscapes have already been cut down, 72 percent in Indonesia and 60 percent in Papua New Guinea.

• 8 percent in Africa. Africa has lost most of its intact forest landscapes in the last 30 years. The timber industry is responsible for destroying huge areas of intact forest landscapes and continues to be the single largest threat to these areas.

• Less than 3 percent in Europe. In Europe, more than 150 square kilometres of intact forest landscapes fall victim to the chainsaw every year and the last areas of the region’s intact forest landscapes in European Russia are shrinking rapidly.

At the rate we are going, I figure future generations will not experience the beauty of mother Earth. Please let's do our share of preserving the greens!!!

Wee Hour Craving

So there I was comfortably lying on my bed, ready to get some zzzzz's.

It's 1:30AM. All of a sudden i had this strange craving for a chocolate covered marshmallow cookie.

You know...the kind girl scouts peddle from door to door.

Only...

there is none in my cupboard.

Of all the cookies, in all the supermarkets, in all the world...(thinks Bogart)

Now what am i gonna do with my craving? Sonamagan!
